SPOOOOOOOORE!

Spore, the long-awaited game of evolution from EA/Maxis, has arrived!

But (with EA there's always a but) it unfortunately has some nasty DRM called (you may have heard of it) SecuROM. It's nothing better than spyware. And in addition, you can only install the game 3 times!

Sign the petition to get rid of it!

*SIGH* School begins again.

The Road goes ever on and on.

Just as Life continues in its course. Summer has gone, and the school year has yet again encroached upon us like evil from the deeps.

Yet there is an upside. We shall soon reaffirm our freindships, and start new ones altogether.

Not to mention that quite central thing called Learning.

And whither then? I cannot say.

May you all have a good first day of school!

Oh no! I've been neglecting my blog!

I need some way to avoid forgetting about posting...
I'll make something up.

Well; I've been playing some fun games recently.
I subscribe to a service called GameTap, which lets me download and play any and/or all of the games they have for free as long as I'm subscribed. It's a good deal; they have some great games, and not only obscure indie ones either - although they do have some of those, and they're pretty fun!
($10/mo - http://www.gametap.com)

Some of the games I've been playing on GameTap are:
-Starscape: a fun top-down space game. You have a little space fighter, and you mine minerals and fight aliens to escape from an alternate dimension!
-Sam & Max: This was in my top ten games list back in May... I think it was like #2 or something. Goes really well with saltine crackers.
-Space Empires V: This was also on the top ten, but I probably like it more after playing it some more. It's similar to the Civ series, but in space! Each solar system (or dust cloud or black hole, etc.) is a hex-grid with all sorts of objects- asteroids, stars, planets, the previously mentioned BLACK HOLE... Great game.

I've also gotten back in to World of Warcraft - You know, the massively popular MMORPG (no pun intended)? If you want to try it out, send me an email (wedageeks@gmail.com), and I'll refer you for a 10-day trial (that gets me a free month of play if you buy the game)
($20, then $15/mo - http://www.worldofwarcraft.com)

The End of an Era

Morning dawns on the last day of 7th grade. Summer is coming. FOR A SCHOOL-LESS DAWN! FOR FREEDOM!!!

This has probably been the toughest year of school yet (and I imagine it can only get harder). I hope I don't forget everything I learned over the summer...

Have a Great Summer, everyone!

Another useless post...

As many shall be.

So - I'm back, and I'm gonna talk (or is that type) about some of the games I've been playing lately:

BEGIN TOP TEN GAMES COUNTDOWN!!!

#10: Cruise Ship Tycoon

#9: Tropico: Mucho Macho Edition

#8: Praetorians

#7: Conquest: Frontier Wars

#6: Celtic Kings: Rage of War / Nemesis of the Roman Empire

#5: Space Empires V

#4: Sid Meier's Civilization IV

#3: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

#2: Sam & Max (Episodic Series)

Aaaaand.... (Drum-roll, please!)

NUMBER ONE:

Homeworld 2!!!

There you go!

(EDIT: I'll post another one of these eventually, probably sometime in June.)

Speaking of starting...

So... In each post, I'll talk about what's going on. Simple. Here goes:

Today we had a track/field meet. I threw my discus 97 feet, give or take a few inches. (First place for 7th grade boys I think) Today was the last normal meet before the finals start - and I'm going to the finals for shotput and discus!

I'm currently working on a history worksheet, created by my teacher (who btw gives WAYYYY too much homework) for use with the April 28 edition of Scholastic's Junior Scholastic magazine. It's horrible.

The Second Post.

Here I am again.

I need to think of better names for these posts, huh?

Right now I'm listening to some music by the Pat Little Band, from the CD As Ourselves...

So... time to think about a topic. I guess I can just chronicle my life. That might be useful later on.

THE STORY THUS FAR:

*Something*

Now that we've gotten that over with, I can start in earnest.

The First Post.

Ah, the middle of the night... I'm up late for no specific reason, and I decided (randomly) to start a blog... I have no idea how contiguous this'll be, but I'm going to try my best to keep posting. Ta-ta for now!
